My name is Roque Tenorio, and I am what you could call an emotive painter. Each of my paintings has such deep meaning for me because it’s what I have felt or experienced. I try to capture not a moment, but a feeling, an emotion. The ones that you have a hard time to just let go. To feel is more powerful than to see, or to hear. But, is often expressed by both. It has been the thesis of my life to combine three of the most powerful senses.

In a way, you are open to how I view life, all because of a reaction on how you view life. For each of my paintings to be finished I have to be finally satisfied with a multitude of  emotions. A layered effect! Both of pain, frustration, calmness, peace, anger sometimes, and always with - love - the most powerful and appealing of qualities. It is only then that when the layers are complete, I can move on. But I’ve left a part of me behind.
